Our friends the Blair's took us to the discovery at the Gateway mall in Salt Lake. Eli would live there if he could! We had so much fun!
My 30 year old husband still enjoys playing with dinosaur figurines!
A grocery store for mini people!
Eli and Evely went grocery shopping at a place just their size!
There was even rocking climbing. Erin was always into this since she was a toddler!
I loved this thing, so did Eli. They were these magnetic shapes/building pieces!

Erin and Eli got to go on a helicopter!
This is my wife...
Rico loves teasing Eli. So, whenever Rico says, "This is my mommy," Eli would drop whatever he is doing to say, "This is my mommy..." Tonight, Rico teased Eli again and said, "This is my wife." Eli dropped his toy and goes..."This is my wife" and wedged between us. Just one of the many adorable things he says! Love that little munchkin!
The other night, I kissed Erin on the head and said "Kohn Pov (little child in Cambodain), go sleep on your bed." Eli also kissed Erin on the head and says, "Pum-pum, go sleep on your bed." I love how he's at the stage of mimicing everything we say! Pum-pum is Erin's nickname now...

Curling up to a good book!
Today, Monica and I went to a few bridal stores to find dresses for me for her big day! Unfortunately, I didn't find anything I like.
I have been promising Erin that I'd take her to the library and she reminds me every time it is raining! Well, despite the rain today I finally took her to the library. She is participating in the summer reading again which if she commits herself to reading a set time or books a week, she will get a prize, gift certificate, treats, etc. from the library. She didn't want to, but I signed her up anyway. I wasn't going to let her spend her summer watching TV all day! So, she finished a Junie B. Jones book today and is starting on a Cam Jansen book. She loves reading, but I just needed to give a her a little nudge. So, thanks E-Ca for reminding me that a rainy day is the best day to curl up and read a good book!
Memorial Day
On this memorial day, we took the children to the splash park at Porter park and invited some of our friends to join us. We love that park. There are water slides and water shoooting out of everywhere. Eli was hesitant to get wet - I think because of this bucket of water that fills up from atop and dumps on everyone. Erin on the other hand jumped right it. We love it because it's free! Sorry, no pics this time since I forgot the camera again. We ended with a bonfire at Beaver Dick and roasted hotdogs and marshmellows and had S'mores! Yum!
New Calling!
Rico and I have a new calling! We are team teaching the Gospel Principle class. We are enjoying it so much. We love preparing lessons and having discussions together. We especially love the opportunity we get to bear witness of Christ and testimony of the true gospel!
Released from Primary!
So, this past Sunday, I was released from my calling as Primary president. It has been such a rewarding calling. I truly love working with the children with all of my heart. Each one are so different and so special in the Lord's eyes. They all have such a sweet, innocent spirit.
We were at General Conference!
It was such an exciting and spiritual experience attending general conference. We were in the very same room with President Monson! We attended the Saturday morning session. We loved all of the talks!
We made pizza for family home evening!
We bought pizza dough and tomato paste from Papa Murphy's. So, all we did was spread the sauce and addred cheese and pepperoni. It was the first time Eli made pizza, so he kept eating the shredded cheese and pepperoni off the pizza...LOL! It was one yummy pizza!
The pizza pro...
Erin learned that Rico used to work at Little Ceasars in high school, so he was trying to show us his expertise in making pizza and arranging the pepperoni...sure, hon..
President Clark's talk at Grad Fest
Last night, Rico and I with Mike and Meg went to grad fest and listened to President Clark and his wife talk. It was very spiritual! He talked about charity being the pure love of Christ. We all know what it means, but do we have the pure love of Christ? Do we really serve and love others the way Christ does? Do we offer to do things for others and not expect anything in return? Do we think of others and give to others before we think of and give to ourselves. Thirty years from now, he something like, " You will experience a lot of heartache and sorrow and you will also experience joy and happiness." I know that we are all on earth to be tried and tested. I know that the trials we experience are inevitable and make us much stronger people. I am grateful for my trials because I discover so much about myself. I discover my strengths as well as my weaknesses and pray to Heavenly Father what I can do to overcome my weaknesses. I am grateful and blessed for the joy I experience in my life. It is a reminder to me that my Heavenly Father loves me!
Feeding the Thousands
Yesterday, for family home evening, we had a lesson on how Jesus blessed teh bread and fish to feed five thousand people. Erin was very attentive during the lesson as we were telling her the story. Rico made a really good point that the Lord helps us in the things we need, after we can do all that we can for ourselves. In the lesson, the Jesus tells the disciples to gather what they can from the people and after gathering five loaves and two fish, he blessed it, fed all five thousand; and with plenty of food left over. I know that as we journey through life, we need to always seek the Lord for guidance and direction. If we do our part of the work, He will bless us in abundance.
This is Eli!

This is his look-alike cousin, Jacob!
Christmas in California
Our little family left at 10pm. to California the week before Christmas. We made several rest stops and finally arrived 14 hours later! The children took the car ride pretty well and slept most of the time. We spent one week with the Pascuals and the second week with the Horn family. Some of the things the children enjoyed during our trip there is seeing all of their cousins...all 28 of them! What I enjoyed most while were there was of course hanging out with family, but I also had a great time reuniting with friends I haven't seen in ten years ago. Rico of course enjoys all of the fine restaurants the bay area has to offer. A new Thai restaurant we really liked was Osha, in San Francisco. It was very hard for us to leave because we miss family so much, but I was also looking forward to coming home to slow pace life in Rexburg and we all had to get back into our routines. Erin had to go back to school, Eli well...had to get back into his sleeping routine, I was excited about new children we might have this semester in primary, and Rico had to get ready for his last semester, waiting for books he ordered while we were in CA and getting school supplies.
Family Home Evening
This week, for family home evening, our friends Nikki and Ryan Nichols invited us to go caroling at a nursing home. Before we headed out caroling, Nikki made sure to take care of us and fed us cookies and hot chocolate! I was excited since I haven't done this since young women and it was our first time as a family! I confessed to Rico on our way there that for some reason, I had a fear for elderly living in nursing homes, but it all changed when we got there. As we were making our way through the hallways and passing by the rooms, we approached an old man who sat in this chair and he greeted us with the sweetest smile and a "hello" and it just touched my heart!
On a funnier note, another cute man on a wheel chair was counting the little children who were with us and finally, he pointed to Rico and said..."he's another kid"...we all laughed! When we drove home, I had this overwhelming fear of growing old and being alone. But, as I thought about it more during the week, I started to look at things at an eternal perspective. I know that we are here to follow Christ's example, to get tested and make choices so that we could be worthy to stand before God one day. If we keep His commandments, I know the Lord will preserve us! I am so grateful for that knowledge! Thanks Nikki & Ryan for this fun experience!
My recent conversation with Erin...
Q: Mom, are there more than one Santas? M: Why do you ask that? E: Because my friends said so... M: What do you think? E: I think there's only one and it takes him all day & all night to bring presents to all the children. M: There must be lots of children on the "nice" list. E: I think I'm on the "nice" list.
Big Judds ---BIG BURGERS!
We only go to Big Judd's with E-Ca! This burger feeds four people and fills you up!!!! E-Ca had this one all to herself and got a picture taken and posted on the restaurant wall. Way to go, girl! JK
Annoying blank side of my blog!
Ok, I don't like putting pictures on the "Add a Gadget" link because the pictures are so teeny tiny that we can't see them clearly. It annoys me that half the page on my blog is blank.
Pasghetti for dinner!
Eli continues to feed himself, but not too thrilled about being strapped up in his booster chair!
Feet!
Erin gets to take pictures with our digital camera. This is a picture that she took tha we thought was cute. Aren't Eli's feet so tiny & cute! Both Erin & Eli inherited Rico's long, skinny toes!
I'm crying!
Yes, Erin secretly took pictures of me crying from cutting onions for our tuna sandwiches! Scary, huh?
Harvest Break Read-a-thon!
Erin kept herself busy during the harvest break and read lots of fun books! She read for at least 15 minutes a day, although she could read Juni B. Jones forever! She likes a new author named Robert Munsch. She earned $5 from her daddy to donate to the school so that they could purchase books for their library! Way to go Erin!
Erin shows me the art of fanning.
She loves this feather fan & had to get it from the dollar tree store!
I want to play, daddy!
Rico is studying for the LSAT while Eli persistently tries to get Rico to play with him. He has been having babbling conversations with Rico. I think it's guy code!
I give up!
He then tried to horseback ride on Rico, but to no avail! He just plop on his back!
I Am a Child of God
The children decorated an image of themselves using yarn for hair and googe eyes!
Our primary activity day! The first day of snow!
Eli's grown a little mohawk! He now has 4 teeth on the top and two on the bottom.
POOPED!
This day, Eli learned how to rock climb and go down the slide all by himself in our backyard. I'll get a picture of him in action next time. He was so tired that he fell asleep on the floor after playing with his Elmo phone next to him. I was so proud of him earlier, he took 5 immunizaiton shots like a man!
Dontcha wish your man was hot like mine???
It was so cold, so Rico decided to get Eli in the water gradually, but Eli went for it and plunged his body under water. Erin is going back & forth with her sandbucket scooping water to make sandcastles. We hope the weather is nice enough for us to go again.
Us at Rigby Lake...again!
We promised Erin to get her sand toys the next time we go to Rigby Lake. She spent most of her time making sandcastles and animal moulds.
Mr. Independent
Eli has been wanting to do things on his own lately. He refuses to be fed, so he took matter into his own hands and tried to feed himself dinner. He gets it all over the table & himself. He's so funny!
Our ward camp-out.
Here is my attempt to take a snapshot in the dark. Rico is making smores for me...or at least is trying to. He's never roasted marshmellows on a stick, so everytime he did it, he completely melts it! I threatened him that he couldn't come back home without bringing a smores back home...and he did!
Skating with daddy!
One of many things he like to do is ride along with Rico on his skateboard. Check out his new crocs grandma bought him!
We bought Eli a booster chair so that he could eat his meals with us. He loves it, except the strapping in part. His meals for now consist of baby oatmeal with peas and carrots on the sides. He loves string cheese, goldfish, and cheez-its!
Back to school stuff from ma-ma!
Erin was so elated to get a package from her grandmother. It consisted of socks, undies, shoes and shirts for back to school. Among those things, she was excited to get a Hannah Montana backpack. She had smiles from ear to ear as you could see!
Ma-ma didn't forget Eli...
We also received shoes and socks for Eli. That night, Eli was walking all over Broulim's. He loves his Crocs! Love you ma-ma!
Fun in the sun at Rigby Lake!
Look at these people! What are they doing? We had so much fun the first time we went to Rigby Lake that we decided we would try to go every weekend. Erin and Eli loves the water! Erin is trying to paddle on a human boat...sorry Mike! =)
Hey, there's that kid that....
There's that kid...playing with our football. We didn't know who he was, but he kept chasing Reyna & throwing sand at her. I think he had a crush. Ten minutes later, he walked by Rico and smacked him in his...you know what!!!
Before and....
after!
Tom & Rico dared Mike to tip the canoe!
Fruit Pizza...yummy, yummy!
This is the best fruit pizza ever! Elisa Caldwell made it one time and we had to get her recipe! Erin could have it for every meal...she loves it!
Preparing for strawberry shortcake dessert!
Erin loves to help out in the kitchen. She's cutting up strawberries! I attempted bravery by trying to make my own poundcake and it came out chewy and elasticy. I'll never do it again!
Master of Disaster!
Nowadays, I stop trying to clean my house every hour since Eli rips through the house like a twister! He races to the fridge everytime he hears me open it and pulls out all of the condiment bottles from door shelf. I don't know how he does it, but he takes one step right behind him and above to reach the upper shelf. So, I resort to cleaning the house (and updating my blog) when the kids crash!
Erin gets bored...
This is what happens when Erin gets bored...she puts star stickers & decorates Eli's face...poor little guy is so oblivous!
The Carousel Park
Erin is waiting to get on the carousel. Eli got to ride on for free with mommy. We were both really dizzy the whole time. Eli fell asleep after that!
After the carousel ride, Erin was ready for a splash. She is coming down the water slide. This was our first time there. She loves it and asks to go there everyday.
Rico continues to study very hard. We're so proud of daddy!
Erin Cake is always ready for the camera!
<------- Erin giggles as Eli gets frozen custard all over himself!
