Counting my blessings...

I am so glad that I have been able to go to Erin's school and be a "Math Mom." When Erin started kindergarten, I was unable to volunteer as a parent to go help out in her class. Because I was running a daycare at home; it was impossible for me to bring all 4 toddlers and 1 baby into the classroom. I am very fortunate to have friends who are more willing to babysit Eli while I go help with Math in a Minute in Erin's class. She loves to see me there and I love seeing her interact with classmates and her teachers. She is so cute! I was also glad to hear Mrs. Hawkins mention that Erin is very smart. I am so proud of her. Here is a picture of her in class making apple fritters since it was Johnny Appleseed's birthday.

Erin's bestfriend at school.

Eli has been doing very well after receiving asthma treatment two days ago at the doctor's office. He started wheezing and had rapid breathing about once to twice a month. We now have a machine at home so that we can give him immediate treatment when he needs it. He doesn not have asthma as the doctor expains that as babies grow, so do their airway passages, lungs, etc. So, we will not know until he gets a little older.

Lately, Eli has enjoyed going for morning strolls. It's been cold in the mornings, but a little before noon, the weather is perfect. He enjoys pointing out birds and airplanes as we walk. We have also visited and harvested some vegetables from our garden...tons of pumpkins, tomatoes, cucumber and zuchinni. As I scan the garden for ripe vegetables, Eli is busy combing his hands through the dirt and throwing them in the air; and helps me pick baby tomatoes. I love spending this time with him. He is just so curious about the world around him, very observant and copies what Erin does most of the time. The other day, Erin tied her jump rope between two chairs and limboed. After watching Erin a couple of times, Eli decided that he wanted to give it a shot. We are so happy that we have Erin who sets a great example, and plays well with her brother (most of the time if Eli is not wacking her with a golf club). She is like mommy #2. She insists that Rico and I work on having another baby next semester...now where did she get that idea?

Rico started this semester with a full load of 19 units. He finished his internship at Lexington Law and is now devoting his time to studying and trying to get outstanding grades to get into a good law school. He left last night with one of his friends and our neighbor to Salt Lake to take an LSAT prep course. Next, week is the real deal and will take the actual exam. I know that he will do well. He is very ambitious and puts 110% into everything he does.

I reflect on the things that the Lord has bless me with and I am sure glad that he has given to me my children who loves me unconditionally. I am honored that the Lord has entrusted these evermore righteous beings to me. Motherhood is a special calling from the Lord. It is the most treasured and rewarding job I will ever have on this earth. I am also blessed with a husband who wants to study and work hard to provide for us. I am grateful that he acknowledges that sometimes I need to be relieve of my duties at home, and then steps in to take over. He supports me in everthing I do, including at home and my calling at church.

What more can I ask for?

Hope you are having a good conference weekend. I had a lot of fun on our walk the other day. Oh and thanks for showing how amazing our lives are right now, even though we may not have everything money can buy.. we are richer than most!
